Okay so, I was listening to TWiT and Patrick Beja, a french podcaster was talking about what france does in lieu of someone pirating copyrighted files over the internet, first they send a letter, next they send another letter, after that you receive a fine, while I do have some reservations about this it seems like a better alternative than what the RIAA does these days (even if they have loosened up a bit on it), getting caught pirating files should have the same repercussions as say, stealing a CD out of wal-mart. Which is usually just a fine/probation, nowhere near a fine of 250,000 dollars…meh, perhaps i’m just too much of a defender of the pirates.

Defining Essays

So, in class today we’re learning about defining essays. The realization came to me that everything is a defining essay is essence, any essay you write can be considered to be defining something. Perhaps we should rename the term to “inspiring essays” or “landmark essays” then of course it would be rather hard to label, or rather defend your label for said essays. Literature, you are infinitely confusing.

11 Ways To Resist Sleep

Well, i’ve decided to stay up the whole night tonight. Why am I doing this you may ask? There really is no reason but the list below definitely contains a few contributing factors.

1. Make a blog.

2. Make a sandwich.

3. Catch up on TV shows on Hulu.

4. Listen to podcasts (well, this can be counterproductive, it really depends on the podcast.)

5. Make a list on the blog you made in point 1.

6. Try to understand how google is so rich solely off of advertising.

7. Try to come up with a plan to get that rich solely on advertising.

8. Realize that plan is ridiculous after you’ve googled number 6.

9. Go to the apple site and gaze at the new ipods.

10. Once you start to actually get sleepy, ask the 8 year old inside you…they will tell you candy is the solution.

11. Die from sleep deprivation.

So far i’ve done all of those except number 11, wish me luck.
